Last week, Stemmatters welcomed master’s students from various universities in Northern Portugal for the first edition of the CAR T-REX Open Day, an event dedicated to fostering scientific curiosity and academic engagement in the field of regenerative medicine. The initiative was part of the CAR T-REX project’s commitment to Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation (CD&E), aiming to bring students closer to real-world advanced therapy research while promoting learning and networking opportunities among participants from different academic backgrounds.
Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to learn more about the CAR T-REX project through scientific presentations explaining the development process of CAR-T cell therapy, visit Stemmatters’ laboratories and manufacturing facilities, and take part in a practical workshop illustrating the key steps involved in designing and applying this innovative therapy. The experience enabled students to understand not only the scientific challenges but also the importance of regulatory processes, quality standards, and innovation in the development of cutting-edge therapeutic products.
For Stemmatters, as a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) focused on regenerative medicine, this initiative represents an opportunity to share its expertise in product and process development, Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) production, and clinical translation of innovative medicinal products. The company works across multiple investigational medicinal products, including advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), biologicals, and various raw materials that support the life cycle of innovative therapeutic solutions.
The CAR T-REX Open Day reinforces Stemmatters’ commitment to scientific training and dissemination, while highlighting AvePark as a hub of excellence for innovation and research in regenerative medicine, supporting high-impact companies and projects in the region.
