The MPr-2024-1 Notice has been launched to support the protection of intellectual and industrial property in the Norte, Centro, Lisbon, Alentejo, and Algarve regions, with applications open until the end of 2024.
The COMPETE 2030 Program has launched the MPr-2024-1 Notice to support the protection of intellectual and industrial property in the Norte, Centro, Lisbon, Alentejo, and Algarve regions.
Operations aiming for the registration of industrial property rights in the form of patents, utility models, designs, or models through national, European, and international routes will be supported.
Operations submitted under the individual application modality, within the scope of the typology of operation for the Protection of Intellectual and Industrial Property, will receive support for the following protection requests:
- National definitive patent, utility model, and design or model applications filed with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI);
- Patent, utility model, and design or model applications filed abroad directly with the respective national administrations, whether claiming Portuguese priority or not;
- European patent application filed with the INPI (regardless of claiming priority from a Portuguese application) or the European Patent Office, provided it claims priority from a Portuguese patent or utility model application;
- International patent application (PCT) filed with the INPI (regardless of claiming priority from a Portuguese application) or the European Patent Office and/or the World Intellectual Property Organization, provided it claims priority from a Portuguese patent or utility model application;
- Community design or model application filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Small Mid Cap companies of any nature and legal form that meet the eligibility requirements set out in the general application framework of Portugal 2030 and its respective Funds may apply.
This Notice applies to all NUTS II regions of the Norte, Centro, Lisbon, Alentejo, and Algarve in mainland Portugal, and the location of the operation corresponds to the region where the investment will be made.
The application period ends on 30/12/2024, with the analysis and decision being made according to the following phases:
- Phase 1: 27/06/2024 (6:00 PM) – for all applications, with or without registration of the aid request through Notice No. 01/RPA/2022;
- Phase 2: 30/09/2024 (6:00 PM) – for all applications;
- Phase 3: 30/12/2024 (6:00 PM) – for all applications.
