Hydrumedical S.A. and Bioceramed S.A., both based at Avepark – Guimarães Science and Technology Park, took part in the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Congress (SICOT 2025), held in Madrid from September 3 to 5.
Hydrumedical is a Portuguese medical device company dedicated to innovation in urology, ostomy, and sports medicine. Internationally recognized for developing the world’s first biodegradable ureteral stent, the company has been expanding into new areas, including advanced sports medicine solutions, designed and manufactured in its own facilities.
Bioceramed, also part of the Hydrumedical group, specializes in advanced biomaterials for orthopedics, spine, trauma, and dental regeneration. Present in more than 50 countries and certified under ISO 13485:2016, the company stands out for its development of calcium phosphate bone substitutes, viscosupplementation solutions, and regenerative therapies with PRP and hyaluronic acid, always in close collaboration with academic institutions.
During the event, both brands showcased a comprehensive portfolio of innovative medical solutions, ranging from sports medicine to orthobiologic therapies, reinforcing Guimarães’ positioning as a hub of excellence in science, technology, and healthcare.
Participation in SICOT 2025 represented a strategic opportunity to strengthen ties with surgeons, researchers, and international partners, consolidating the role of these two Guimarães-based companies as leaders in healthcare innovation and in the development of solutions with global impact.
