The meeting took place by videoconference in order to establish a connection between entrepreneurs with complementary projects.
Networking is the motto for “a paradigm shift in the economy”. This was the general idea presented by the City Councilor of Guimarães, Ricardo Costa, in the scope of a meeting with businessmen and entrepreneurs from the Set.Up Guimarães incubator and Avepark – Science and Technology Park, which took place this Thursday, via zoom .
Through the Economic Development Division, the Municipality of Guimarães intends to bring together companies integrated in Set.Up and Avepark, enhancing networking and complementing projects, even reducing costs, thus implementing an entrepreneurship ecosystem, with the support of mentors already defined for the different areas of the projects, from design creation to internationalization.
Ricardo Costa highlighted the moment of a paradigm change at Avepark, highlighting the change in the image already underway and the reinforcement of the brand in order to convey an international message. “We cannot remain attached to a reactive economy and what the market asks for. We need a disruptive economy, through linking knowledge to the business fabric and the dimension of governance, with a view to the future. For this, we already have major brands in Avepark such as Farfetch, Research Institute 3B’s, the IPCA and we will also have the Instituto Cidade de Guimarães soon as well as the installation of the Supercomputer. We want to position Guimarães in the future and drive the paradigm shift in the Portuguese economy, creating brands and patents, sharing knowledge and experiences ”, stressed the Councilor of the Economic Development Division.
Set.Up Guimaraes has more than 35 supported startups (more than 100 entrepreneurs). Over 500 events took place during events, talks and webinars to support entrepreneurship.
