Guimarães’ Economy Month continued this Tuesday, October 14, with the Business Activation Workshop for a Sustainable Economy, held at the Landscape Laboratory. The initiative brought together business owners, entrepreneurs, and representatives of local institutions to reflect on the role of companies in the ecological transition and on Guimarães’ contribution as the future European Green Capital 2026.
The session began with participant registration and a welcome coffee, followed by the official opening focused on the strategic framework of Guimarães 2026 – European Green Capital. During the morning, participants engaged in two collaborative activities. The first, under the theme “What can I do for Guimarães 2026?”, encouraged a participatory methodology for analyzing and prioritizing actions related to climate action within the territory.In the second part, titled “What can Guimarães 2026 mean for my company?”, participants mapped initiatives and opportunities to align with the environmental indicators defined by the European Green Capital framework, identifying pathways toward sustainable innovation within the local economic fabric.
The meeting concluded with a summary and sharing session, reinforcing the importance of cooperation between the business sector, the municipality, and the scientific community in building a greener, regenerative, and more resilient economic model.
As part of Guimarães’ Economy Month, this workshop highlighted the role of the Landscape Laboratory as a space for dialogue and co-creation between sustainability, economy, and the future — promoting a shared vision for the municipality’s sustainable development.
