On March 31st and April 1st, AvePark hosted an educational activity promoted by the 3B’s Research Institute (Biomaterials, Biodegradables and Biomimetics) of the University of Minho, which welcomed Year 12 Biology students from Colégio Dom Diogo de Sousa for a hands-on learning experience.
Over the course of two days, students had the opportunity to engage with the high-level research environment that defines AvePark, participating in laboratory experiments focused on the field of Molecular Biology.
The visit offered not only practical learning that complemented their classroom lessons, but also an inspiring and realistic glimpse into the daily scientific work carried out at the 3B’s Institute. For many students, it was their first time in a research laboratory, making the experience even more impactful.
This hands-on activity, led by the scientific team at the 3B’s Institute, sparked a deeper interest in scientific research and potential career paths in life sciences, strengthening the connection between education and the world of science and technology.
For AvePark, initiatives like this reinforce its mission as a space where science, innovation, and community intersect. By opening its doors to schools and future talents, the park continues to establish itself as an environment where knowledge is shared, built, and inspired.
